The guided tour of Molfetta will start from the symbol of the city and that is the cathedral of San Corrado dedicated to the patron saint of the city. Built near the port in the twelfth century, it is a typical Romanesque construction with the distinction of having been built with 3 domes in axis and two bell towers clearly visible even several kilometers away in the skyline of the Adriatic coast. Until 1785 it was the cathedral with the city.
The tour will continue in the historic center with a visit to the seventeenth century Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
It became a cathedral in 1785, since the Cathedral of San Corrado became inadequate to the needs of worship of the increased population, in it are preserved, in a silver urn, the remains of the patron saint Conrad of Bavaria.
The interior of the church is a Latin cross, with a barrel vaulted ceiling, frescoed in 1887 by the Molfolini painter Michele Romano.
A short distance, between the alleys of the historic center, you will reach the tower Passari, initially gunboat and later became a lookout tower.

The tower is majestic and compact. At the base, the walls are massive and reach a thickness of five meters that gradually decreases up to the cord, from where you climb up to the summit from which you sit at a spectacular 360 degree view. In the central part there are three gunboats arranged in the three directions of the horizon.
